Appointed Person First Aid

This is an externally accredited one day course. It is facilitated and certified by a recognised First Aid Training company. The certificate provided is Health and Safety Executive recognised. It is essential to note that this course is not the full First Aid qualification accredited by the Health and Safety Executive.

The course provides participants with a basic knowledge of first aid. The course provides information on the techniques involved with choking, falls, using the recovery position and how to act in an emergency situation.

Certification of this course is valid for three years from the date of course completion.

The aims of the course are:

  1. To provide participants with basic First Aid knowledge that is accepted within a work enviroment.
  2. To provide participants with basic First Aid techniques such as falls, choking etc.
  3. To provide a venue for the practice of those skills in order to build participants confidence.

This course will be considered as part of a completed programme of resettlement, and may be used as module of a higher certificate in the Back to Work Programme.
