Effective Communication
This course is a one day course which aims to allow participants to recognise their own communication skills and develop knowledge of how to use them effectively
The course aims to build participan'ts confidence in the abilities they have, whilst also developing new skills.
The course runs on an interactive basis, using participant's own experiences to gain increased confidence.
The course is run on a practical level with an emphasis on participant's everyday experiences of their communication skills.
The course will cover the following topics:
- How the ways we communicate are used in our life e.g. personal relationships and social interactions.
- The importance of non-verbal communication.
- The effect of the different enviroments on how we communicate.
- Active listening and how to listen effectively.
- Timings of cumminications.
- Types of questions.
- Bad habits in communicating.
This course will be considered as part of a completed programme of resettlement, and may be used as module of a higher certificate in Personal Development.
