Positive Actions

This course is a one day course and aims to provide the learner with skills and knowledge to enable them to develop a more positive approach to themselves and their lives.

The course uses the individual's past experiences to explore negativity and how this can effect their behaviour.

The course provides a venue for the learner to consider their thoughts about themselves, other people and situations through using tools and encouragement to start thinking in a more positive way.

An aim of the course is to increase awareness of self-esteem and how this contributes to the learner's thinking procceses.

Whilst the course is not a Professional Anger Management session, it does examine anger and the negative impact this emotion can lead to. The session also looks at how to use the feelings anger provokes as a positive tool.

Course Aims:

  1. To increase awareness of creating and sustaining a positive attitude.
  2. To encourage awareness of the ways that the learner can undermine their own positive attitude or allow themselves to be undermined.
  3. To encourage learners to think about the ways they can enchance their positive attitude.
  4. To increase an awareness of self-esteem and how to improve self-esteem.
  5. To encourage learners to apply their understanding of self-esteem to themselves.
  6. To examine the feelings of anger and what they mean to the learner.

This course will be considered as part of a completed programme of resettlement, and may be used as module of a higher certificate in Personal development.
