Shared Housing Scheme

The Shared Housing Scheme provides temporary supported accommodation for single people.

Prospective tenants need to be homeless and to have led an unsettled way of life. They must want and need support. Our aim is to prepare and move people into more independent accommodation.

The scheme consists of 20 bed spaces which are spread over 4 properties in York. Each property has its own Housing Support Worker who works closely with each tenant.

Resettlement Support is provided for a period of up to 2 years with the aim of facilitating a move into appropriate permanent accommodation. Individual support needs are provided by the Scheme's Housing Support Workers and also through the Resettlement Centre.

Resettlement Outreach Support is provided to manage the transition from Supported to fully independent accommodation.
