Tenancy Workshop
This course aims to give information and guidance to individuals around the areas of holding a tenancy.
It is hoped that individuals will have a greater knowledge of their rights and responsibilities when they hold their own tenancy.
Individuals will be asked to use their past experiences to explore and develop new ways of managing a tenancy in order to successfully remain in permanent accommodation in the future.
The course is run in two sections, covering the rights of the tenant and the responsibilities of a tenant.
The course will also look at the responsibilities of the landlord and how as a tenant you should expect to be treated as a tenant.
Aims Of The Course
.- To give individuals the correct information in regards to their rights as tenants.
- To develop a sense of the responsibility held by tenants, and what will be expected of them within the legal framework of a tenancy agreement.
- To give an understanding of the legal issues in regards to tenancies, such as, complaints, arrears and evictions.
- To develop the confidence of individuals in dealing with landlords by providing them with the information required to manage a tenancy effectively.
- To provide information in regards to services that can support individuals with housing issues in the future in order to prevent any further homelessness.
This course will be considered as part of a completed programme of resettlement, and may be used as module of a higher certificate in Effective Tenancy Management
