Our Projects

My Money, My Life

Our Financial Capabilty Coaches offer one-to-one personalised support sessions to anyone over 18 in the York area who is experiencing financial difficulties. We provide benefits advice plus money guidance and help people to access specialist debt advice.
Our coaches understand that rather than being just a matter of maths, managing your finances can be a complex and emotive process so we approach our work with patience, understanding and compassion. We work with individuals or families in the medium- to long-term, as well as offering brief advice within various community settings across York.
We currently hold regular sessions at:
• Kyra Women’s Project - twice monthly appointment sessions held on a Tuesday afternoon (Kyra members only - please book directly through Kyra)
• York Mind - monthly appointment session on the last Thursday of every month
(please book directly through MIND)
• Bell Farm Social Hall
• Sanderson House / The Place, Chapelfields - monthly drop-in for local residents 10am - 12pm on the 3rd Thursday of every month
Check out our social media pages for live updates.

Housing Advocate

Next Steps supports rough sleepers, sofa surfers, people living in short-term accommodation (i.e. staying with a friend) and people at risk of becoming homeless.
People experiencing homelessness may have multiple complex needs; therefore we offer personalised support and advice. This can range from help to find more suitable housing, help setting up a bank account or managing bills or support to engage with specialist partners for drug or alcohol addiction.
If you need help and you are not being supported by any other charity or organisation in York, you can contact us via Facebook @PeasholmeCharity
