My Money, My Life

The MMML project focuses on helping individuals improve their understanding of money management and access the benefits they are entitled to. We provide a range of services that address immediate financial needs, as well as support that enables clients to build lasting financial stability. 

Services Offered: 

  • One-on-One Coaching: Personalised coaching sessions tailored to individuals’ financial circumstances. Our coaches assist clients in budgeting, setting financial goals, and understanding their spending patterns. 
  • Drop-in sessions: Our advisors are present at community hub, foodbank and local partner organisations sessions across York, providing real-time support to individuals accessing emergency food supplies.  
  • Benefits Guidance: Our team helps clients identify benefits they are entitled to and supports them in the application process. We provide practical advice on managing benefit claims and handling reviews. 
  • Debt Advice Referrals: For individuals facing overwhelming debt, we offer referrals to trusted debt advisory services that can help negotiate with creditors and provide a path to managing outstanding debts. 

 

Community Advice

The CAS project operates in partnership with York Foodbank, helping those facing short to medium term crises such as food insecurity, housing issues, and delayed or denied benefits. Our team is there to support individuals, providing practical advice and guidance to address urgent needs. 

Services Offered: 

  • On-Site Support: Our advisors are present at foodbank sessions across York, providing real-time support to individuals accessing emergency food supplies. [Timetable] 
  • One-on-One Coaching: Personalised coaching sessions tailored to individuals’ financial circumstances. Our coaches assist clients in budgeting, setting financial goals, and understanding their spending patterns. 
  • Crisis Intervention: We offer support for immediate challenges, including food insecurity, housing instability, and issues with benefits. In these times of crisis, our team provides a safe space where clients can access resources and support. 
  • Referrals: We connect clients with appropriate local services, including housing support, domestic violence services, debt advice, and discretionary funds for urgent needs. 

 

Housing Advocate

Peasholme Charity is excited to announce that we are currently fundraising to relaunch our Next Steps project, which aims to provide housing advocacy to individuals experiencing homelessness. This project will work alongside our existing services to provide tailored support, ensuring that those facing housing instability can secure safe, stable, and long-term accommodation. 

Services Offered: 

  • Housing Advocacy: Assisting individuals with understanding their housing rights and responsibilities –supporting them in securing stable accommodation. 
  • Legal Support Referrals: Referring clients to legal services when needed, especially for those facing eviction or other housing-related issues. 
  • Long-Term Housing Solutions: Helping individuals find sustainable, long-term housing options. 

We are currently fundraising to relaunch this vital project, which will extend our ability to support individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
